Dr. Emily Bick is a leading expert in digital entomology, combining technology and ecology to create data-driven solutions for sustainable pest management. She earned her degrees in entomology from Cornell University and UC Davis, and is now an Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where she leads the Bick Lab in pioneering insect monitoring technologies. At BugBug, Emily applies her research to develop AI-powered acoustic sensors that act as “ears in the field,” enabling early pest detection, reducing crop losses, and supporting global food security.

Laurence Still drives the technical vision and development of our sensor, AI, and data systems. Building on his master’s degrees in physics and machine learning, he previously led data strategy at an insect sensor startup, developing machine learning models and end-to-end data pipelines. Laurence applies his expertise in AI and sensors to reveal insights that are otherwise hidden, translating technical innovation into practical solutions in biological and agricultural systems.

Jadey Huray is the Co-Founder and CEO of BugBug, leading its mission to revolutionize pest management with AI-powered acoustic sensing. As a third-generation Director of PT Gunung Madu Plantations, one of Indonesia’s largest sustainable sugarcane operations, she has spearheaded digitalization, sustainability, and product innovation across a 35,000+ hectare agribusiness. Founder of Kreative Assembly and Programs Chair for FBN Asia NxGen, Jadey brings a rare combination of agricultural expertise, entrepreneurial drive, and global networks to build partnerships with researchers, regulators, and industry leaders worldwide. Her goal: to deliver scalable, data-driven solutions that empower farmers, protect crops, and ensure food security.
